KMIC Technology, Inc. is a well established and privately held corporation. Building on twenty years of experience, KMIC Technology, Inc. continues to maintain a financially sound and strong operating organization. KMIC Technology, Inc. was originally founded in 1979 as the Microwave Components Group (MCG) of Aydin Corporation (West) located in South San Jose, California. Although MCG's initial charter was to supply microwave components for military systems manufactured by Aydin Corporation, MCG quickly developed an external customer base for its high performance GaAs FET Amplifier products. Communications and Power Industries, Inc.(CPI), formerly known as Varian Corporation, purchased Aydin Corporation MCG in October of 1998. CPI, a long-term customer since 1981, renamed the organization, CPI, Solid State Products Division (CPI SSPD). On September 27, 2002, Mr. David Kim, President of CPI SSPD for the past year, purchased the business now known as KMIC Technology, Inc. currently situated in the heart of Silicon Valley. Prior to his appointment as President of CPI SSPD, Mr. Kim was the Executive Vice President of Engineering and has provided key management and design engineering leadership for the last fifteen years.
